Well today is going god awful. Girl problems, xbox I bought yesterday died and now I just poured beer over my keyboard and killed it.

Make me happy please, spec me a decent keyboard. My budget is what ever works really. I quite like laptop keyboard kinda style.

Looks quite nice, quite a bit under the budget I was generally thinking of too. Shall certainly make the short list. I am considering this keyboard:

I have the Logitech Illuminated Keyboard and love it :D, I game on it all the time and it is so nice to use and very stylish and modern looking. I have had mine for almost 2 years now and still works like new and looks like new and it gets punished everyday atleast 4 to 8 hours a day working and gaming on it. If you like laptop keyboards this is the one to go for it is like a grown up laptop keyboard and you will like the feel of typing on it. I always said if it dies I will be getting another one or the new version of it. Go for it mate you won't regret it.

The X4 is really good for the price but for me the keys are too shallow to be a serious gaming keyboard.

I'd definitely recommend going mechanical and look at the Filco's, but they are top end prices

yes they are ridiculously low.

Can anyone recommend a gaming keyboard,or at least anti-ghost type, where the keys are pretty tall. Taller than Logitech ones.

What is so good about the feel of these mechanical keyboards then? They are a lot of money to justify on a keyboard really. I mean, my last one was razer so I'm not against spending money if it's justified. Highly would recommend against razer keyboards now.

I would have thought logitech would replace it for free. They seem good with that. Certainly seems to be the winning keyboard for me at the moment. I got one for my flat mate when I built his PC too. Sadly i've never had a chance to actually really try it and now I'm on my way home from uni for easter break so can't try it.

Really?

This warranty does not cover problems or damage resulting from (1) accident, abuse, misapplication, or any unauthorized repair, modification or disassembly; (2) improper operation or maintenance, usage not in accordance with product instructions or connection to improper voltage supply; or (3) use of consumables, such as replacement batteries, not supplied by Logitech except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

Think you misread what I quoted. I wasn't talking about my keyboard, I meant the guy who said if his keyboard ever breaks he will buy it again. I believe logitech would replace it for him for free though as they are rather good.

Laptop keyboard are scissors but they're hard to come by on standalone keyboards.

I'd go for a mechanical if you're gaming or want to have a more comfortable typing experience. If not get whatever keyboard you want (rubber dome wise)

Ah, fair enough.

3-year limited hardware warranty on those.

I suggest the SS merc, shift or 7G (6gv2 if you cannot afford it). I have the 7g, its a really nice mech keyboard. Solid as ****, very durable indeed. It may not have the feel you're after, but trust me it's worth getting used to.
