Spec Me... a keyboard (Yes yet another stupid spec me thread)

I may try and push my funds and go for the g110, I've tried my friends g10
that's right model number right? it's the one that was the dazzling magic one a few years back (3-4 ish), and has gone down in price now but isn't sold most places any-more.
That g110 looks even better, with all the features I want too.

Just noticed the numpad on the x6 is removable.

One of the problems with PC keyboards is they were designed before the mouse was used. Because of this the numpad forces a right handed person's right hand to far right when using mouse.

You may think this is a trivial thing, however I'm somewhat ambidextrous and last 18 months I've learnt to use the mouse in left hand (I use a left handed Logitech MX610 mouse). I can confirm it's a lot more comfortable and it's eliminated shoulder pain. It also means I can keep the keyboard correctly centre (for typing), as I don't have to compensate it's position to the left for mouse.

I mentioned the ergonomic 4000 above, however for a right handed person MS should make a version without a numpad!

Over the years I spend along time finding a good mouse / keyboard combo going all the way back to the original IBM clicky keyboards. The above mentioned left hand mouse/keyboard best I've ever found for ergonomics, and I it also plays BattleField BC 2 just fine :-)

I thought it would be just a gimmick, but I actually use it more than I thought I ever would. I tend to remove it for gaming so my mouse hand and WASD aren't so far apart and it's more comfortable. If I played macro heavy games I would put it on the left, because in gaming mode (switchable button) the numpad becomes programmable macro buttons, so I would have millions of those to play with. I tend to stick it back on the 'normal' right position for calulator (love the fact the calculator launch button is above the numpad where it belongs :)) and other officey apps. Plus, the magnetic attachment is cool (like the charging cable pickup on the X8 mouse) so any excuse to operate it is a bonus :)
