Spec me a Kite

Cheers for the comments, I've already done the deed and bought the Beamer 4, 4m :) Had issues with stock but it's been promised for delivery tomorrow morning!

Not sure how to gauge wind speeds so I'll just have to wet my finger and stick it in the air, if it dries really quick I'll not take it out lol.

The guy on that forum has similar request to me but it's a different guy! I'll sign up and have a lurk, cheers for the link :)

Congrats :) make sure you take someone with you. Just incase :D make sure someone takes some pictures and also launch it at the edge of the window until you get used to the power :P My biggest big of advice though is don't follow the kite. In a low wind you should be able to quite happily just stand on the spot and fly it no problems. It sounds stupid to even mention it but you'd be surprised how many people I have seen do it.

Guys ,

Just a quck update ; I purchased the Big Buzz and we have all had a whale of a time with it in Cornwall , the kids got dragged around the beach with it and even my little one created a new sport of kite dragging in the surf .

I enjoyed it that much that I have just gottten off the phone with the guys over at the Powe kite Shop and orderd a 3.5M Flexfoil Rage , we discussed that my 18 stone would be able to manage a 3.5M as a first 4 line Kite with a view to purchasing a 5M Blurr should I get into buggy riding .

I can see this getting expensive .

^ It's fun isn't it :D Cheers for the purchase help guys, I'm well happy :D

I got my kite last saturday and had to take it out even though the wind was around 20mph :o

Took a mate with me to help setup and launch the kite, I'd find it impossible to do it all on my own?? I mean I could setup and launch for the first time on my own, but every 5 minutes the kite would do a 180 and the lines would twist, how on earth are you supposed to leave the handles and twist the kite back round? I've seen a few video's that show how to spin it on launch but found it impossible to do myself.

I was out for about 3 hours in these 20mph winds, so you can imagine what my arms/back/legs felt like  I woke up the next day and I can honestly say I've never been in so much muscle pain :p I can still feel some of the muscles 4 days later! Hopefully it won't be like that again, I assume it was a mixture of the kite trying to pull my arms out of their sockets and using muscles I didn't know existed!

The kite was pretty impossible to fly in the power zone, most of the time I had it directly above me :p soon as I dropped it into the powerzone it would just pull me half way across the field, I only fell on my arse once though :D

Are there any good tutorial videos on youtube or similar that show how to progress? I've seen quite a few but I'm sure there are some gems out there I've not found!
