Hi all, looking for a laptop to run just solidworks.

However, only want to spend 300 to 400.

What can you suggest?

SolidWorks will have the best support with the right hardware and you would really be better asking on their forums where every day users will have much more experience. But as it's CAD software, you're probably going to need something with a FirePro or Quadro graphics card as it's GPU centric and you won't find those within your budget unless you go second hand.

Dell Precisions and Lenovo W series are what you should be looking at.

Ok, so clearly its not going to be running optimally at such a low price point but its not for professional use, only personal home usage nothing very complicated.

Sorry :D...I think Lenovo ThinkPad L440 is great for your budget £395..you can also search in solidworks forum
