Hey there Laptop experts,

I've never owned a laptop and don't keep up with the technology so don't know my i7 HQs from my i7 Us etc.
I'm after one for when I go abroad, visiting friends, plane or train etc.

Required Specs:
Minimum 8GB
Minimum 1920x108
Maximum 15"
SSD preferred but happy to fit my own.
Anti-glare screen? For use outdoors in sunny areas.
Battery life: 7hrs+ preferably.
Lightweight ish.
Not Apple
Windows, or the ability to re-install my own OS.

I had a Dell XPS 13 9360 in mind with the following specs as I can get it for £150 less than retail.
i7-7500u + 8GB + 256GB PCIe SSD

I'd consider a "gaming" laptop but am somewhat skeptical as to battery life without being plugged in and weight.

For a £1000 budget - any suggestions or recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

1080p XPS15?

Due to its "infinity edge" screen, its actually smaller than standard 15" laptops. I'd hope into a highstreet retailer to have a hands on look.

Ah, have just looked, didn't realise it has a GTX 1050 so that might push me to go over budget :p
With that said I'll have to check actual battery life as I know the XPS 13 can achieve almost 14 hours

This is the best I can get from Dell.

£1309 XPS 15, i7-7700HQ, 8GB, 256GB SSD, GTX 1050, 56WHr, 3 Years Support + Accident Cover
£1166 XPS 13, i7-7500U, 8GB, 256GB SSD, Intel HD 620, 60WHr, 3 Years Support + Accident Cover

Presumably there's no others on the market that can match the performance, weight, size and battery life?

you wont get good numbers with that battery size. I use the 97Whr battery available with some models. To drop down would really kill battery life i think. Im on the 4k screen and get about 6 hours if im not pushing it too hard. Obviously the 1080p screen helps battery a lot, but you'd want the bigger battery version. It may be pushing your budget too much though I'd say.
