Spec me a lifetime subscription VPN please

VPN Unlimited here on lifetime/infinity since xmas
No problems so far,had to contact support a few days ago because it stopped working with my router(installed as openvpn on dd-wrt)got back to me with a few hours with info needed to update. All sorted
Don`t know if it makes a difference but my connection is 400kbs max down and 800kbs up :(

I use PIA VPN, don't do a lifetime subscription but it's super fast, I get about 24Mb download. Whoever you choose take a good look at their privacy/logging policies to see which mays you most comfortable.

I also like to use a browser extension called https everywhere. Every little helps.

EDIT : No you don't have to install a VON at the router level. Most have nifty little programs for managing your connection.

I've had my PureVPN lifetime sub since December 2015 and it's been perfect. Tons of servers to choose from (including a 'fastest server' option which will automatically link you to wherever's fastest at the time), you can use their software or set it up mnaually using Windows VPN or Android/whatever.

I always get full speed.

Will a VPN take away traffic shaping?
I can get 20mb/s download in a morning but in the evening I go as low as 3mb/s.

I suspect that is the usual story of over utilisation/subscription on virgin as opposed to traffic shaping.

+1 for PureVPN

This, "probably not" to answer your question. If you're getting 3 Mbit/s for all kinds of traffic then that's not traffic shaping, that's just a cack service!

I'd be weary of a lifetime subscription service to anything tbh let alone one at £40.

Just get PIA yearly, it's like £25 and I get full 75-80Mbps on any server I connect to including torrents/downloading

Pay monthly or annually for a reputable provider.

I've used others too, but out of the options you've listed, I've used Ivacy VPN only. The service is decent and in most cases, the speed is unaffected. For Netfix, you may have to get in touch with their support to make it work. but that's got more to do with Netflix than Ivacy itself i guess. The only setback for you is there's no dedicated IP. But that's only IF... you need a dedicated IP. IF you don't you're good i guess.

I did 1 month with PIA just to test it out (before buying the annual one).. I am on 200Mbps Virgin cabel, but consistently saw a 90-ish% drop when connected using the VPN (both PPTP and OpenVPN).. I tested against a number of servers (Germany, UK, France, USA), but none of them were able to provide me with a speed I was happy with - this was at any time of the day. I did the test using different speed tests, including their own as well as downloads from Usenet, which normally utilises the full speed.

Sadly, for me anyway, PIA didnt live up to the reputation it has..

Hi,
Have you found a VPN that gives you a decent speed I'm also on virgin.

No I havent had the time yet.. However I just tried PIA again (they have kindly given me a 1 weeks grace period) and unfortunately they speeds are still equally rubbish.. 2Mbps when connecting to FL/USA, 5Mbps to Norway.. Not fast enough to do anything really.
