Hi guys - I am a rather heavy guy so looking for advice on buying a decent quality loft ladder / hatch kit.

I have seen the ones at B&Q and the reviews are not impressive and I would prefer something with a better capacity than 150kg

Any suggestions?

I've seen some zig zag style loft ladders rated at 200kg but they weren't cheap.
Try Googling them if not seen / ruled out already.

I moved my loft space a few years ago from the house to the garage.

Strengthening the garage roof, boarding a floor and adding a home-made loft hatch and a an Abru 37000. Three section, aluminium ladder.
The house, I removed the original hatch and popped a Manthorpe GL25 Hatch in it's place.

However, the ladder is 150Kg and the hatch is fine for occasional use, but I wouldn't use it for constant access.

The problem is you are going to struggle to find anything above 150Kg. Even the more expensive versions of the same thing are still limited to 150Kg.

There is only one set that I know of that's really good quality, and that's the Premier range. But you are looking at about £1200 for a hatch and ladder set that can take 200Kg. They are built like tanks but cost.
