Why not keep your desktop and sell your laptop? Use the money to buy a macbook. That's what I did. I can game on my PC and the rest of things, on my Macbook. I recently got 2gb of RAM for £105 inc.

It depends where you get it from. I got 2x1GB Kingston for £105 inc. but that was from China.
