Or least the questions I should consider for a new one.

I'm looking for a new mattress after the last one lost structural integrity well before its 20 year warranty. It is a memory foam spring based mattress with foam top which was supposed to be more breathable than a traditional 100% memory foam but I still found it overwhelming hot in summer.

Waking up someone else when moving is not a problem so it doesn't have to be memory foam that said. Preferably from someone who has had their brand a while as over the course of pandemic I probably sat on it more than the expected life of most people.

I am a back and occasional side (mainly due to heat) sleeper and us 1 or sometimes no pillow at all. So also looking for a recommendations on pillows that also dont absorb so much heat if anyone has any.

Memory foam contours to the body so there is little air gap, hence they get hot. I think a medium to hard pocket sprung mattress would be better for coolness, but these mattresses can be quite heavy for moving if that's an issue.

Major mattress brands are listed on this page. I think there's also a big "Spec Me" thread on this forum about choosing a mattress so I'd take a look at that.

If you don't get the answers you need try this thread:

My Johnryan mattress i find warm (not hot), but i bought a few down duvets at the same time, so not sure which is the main contributor there. I'm still using my old cheapo pillows, they're cold enough. I sleep on my side and dislike being to warm also.
