Spec me a microwave

I have this, it is great but it is BIG.

What's the price you paid for it? Wondering if it's cheaper than the 200 quid it's going for at the moment.

I can get this one from that Panasonic website directly with £20 discount so it's 180 but worried about it's reliability.
Would paying by credit card offer more warranty than the 1 year?

Depends on the credit card and John Lewis has 2 year standard. Plus the law would give you more than a year, but you will have to fight to get this should it go wrong.

That said, it doesn’t really have any moving parts.

AHH didn't think about that the moving parts thing. So repairs would be down to magnetron or some other electronics making it much more DIY friendly.
Credit card I have is standard Barclaycard so dunno what they offer

Can't go wrong with a Panasonic to be honest. Flatbed is good because you can fit more in and it's easier to clean.
This.

I've got a Panasonic NN-CT870W that must be about 15 years old and it's still going strong.
Just had to change the light inside it so far which was easy

I was looking at upgrading recently but seems like combination microwaves lost half of the functions and became dumb appliances.

also they don't seem to come in 33l anymore, I can fit a full size round pizza oven tray in mine, I doubt a 27litre one could

I paid £300 for my microwave, it's Samsung commercial one, I think it's 1500w, flat bed, large, but the icing in the cake its one of those with just 2 knobs, power and time.

Programmable microwaves frustrate the **** out of me and are completely unnecessary.

So turns out this microwave that arrived is a combi one with oven built in it and came with a metal grill food stand.
Am I Right in thinking that this grill thing can only be used when in oven mode and not in microwave mode?
Also there is a heating element inside the top of it doesn't that count as metal inside a microwave?
Not used it yet but will get a test out later in the week

Well yeah you shouldn't put anything metal in it when using it as a microwave! Only when using the oven/grill functions.
