I currently have a GTX 580 but I'd rather just have a separate build other than my main PC so I don't have to keeping taking the GPU out and moving it back and forth everytime I wanna use the mini one.

Out of mATX and mITX which would you recommend using?

Just trying to save you a bit and get an even better system.
It only takes a couple of minutes to take it out and put in another system. :D

I faced the same problem nearly a decade ago and solved it by getting a Shuttle XPC. Today it would be a SZ87R6 - £277 at another etailer - OCUK don't appear to sell them. Add in CPU (e.g. i5-4570S for £140), GPU (EVGA GTX 780 Ti is £525), and RAM / HDD/SSD/ODD to taste. Your GPU should use a blower fan for best cooling. Grab yourself a mini keyboard and an extra mouse and you're set.

The corsair builder series modular psu would be better in the build I specked, the 750ti doesn't require pcie connectors so if you use the modular you'd literally only need the 24 pin, 8 pin and a sata power connector.

Put some faster RAM in it,

YOUR BASKET
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLD38G2400HC11CDC01) £59.99
Total : £63.90 (includes shipping : £3.26).

Haswell will make good use of Fast RAM which the Z87 chipset will handle.

And again I think you should grab the NZXT Hale 550W PSU will it is on offer as it is made by Superflower also.

That Superflower PSU is basically exactly the same as the NZXT Hale but more expensive fella. Stulid made a mistake telling you the NZXT Hale was fully modular. In the Prodigy mATX you really DO want a modular PSU, have a look at THIS as it walks you through the inside of the case. You'll see there isn't a lot of room to work with sadly :(

A Z series mobo should really be paired with a "K" CPU for overclocking and as I said before the Vulcan RAM is C9 which is better than the Elites C11 (lower is better). Haswell is happy with faster RAM if it can be fitted in on the budget.

There is always a bit of wiggle room in spec'ing......

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - OEM £161.99
1 x Gigabyte Radeon R9 270 OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £142.99
1 x Gigabyte Z87M-D3H Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £82.99
1 x Aero Cool Dead Silence Gaming White Mini Tower Windowed £72.95
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLD38G2400HC11CDC01) £59.99
1 x NZXT Hale Power 90+ 550W '80 Plus Gold' Power Supply £47.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD £43.99
1 x Raijintek Themis Direct Contact CPU Cooler £19.99
Total : £632.88 (includes shipping : ).

My buddy Idleman suggested this case, it should have a little more room to make life easier with a non-modular PSU. It's a little more money in total but it is able to be overclocked for more ooommpf. I don't know how widespread the MSI cooler issue is, so just to keep Stulid happy I've used the GB 270.

Hope some of this waffle helps lol

Where did I say that?

@OP

You could have this,

YOUR BASKET
1 x VTX3D Radeon R9 280 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £189.95
1 x Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £169.99
1 x MSI Z87M Gaming Series Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £101.99
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLD38G2400HC11CDC01) £59.99
1 x NZXT Hale Power 90+ 550W '80 Plus Gold' Power Supply £47.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD £43.99
Total : £628.00 (includes shipping : £11.75).

Much stronger GFX performance.

The retail CPU has a 3year warranty and comes with a stock cooler for £8 more, you can then add a aftermarket heatsink later on.

@honosuseri A friend of mine has recently completed a build using a BitFenix Prodigy M and can't praise it enough. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go for the spec that I posted earlier. I will be going for the NZXT PSU instead of the SuperFlower one though (thanks guys for pointing that out) and I'll be taking another look at RAM options

The badly-fitting cut-out for the 5.25" slot on the Prodigy spoils the look of it for me. I'd rather a totally uniform front. If you want an ODD use a USB one.
