spec me a mobo

im looking for a cheapish mobo for the c2d 2160, it must be a good clocker and preferably have dual lan.

i'm not interested in the next intel cpu's as i will just upgrade again if i need to.

so would that mobo be a good board to go with a 2160?

i need to know as i have to go and get one tomorrow, i'll be using 2gb crucial ballistix of pc5300

Rather have that, because:

1. It's brand new, not B-Grade
2. It's £15 cheaper
3. EVGA warrantys rule, and their customer support
4. The 650/680 chipsets allow you to unlink your DRAM/FSB freq. for overclocking
5. Guaranteed to support 1333 FSB chips (DS3 is 50/50 depending on board revision)

read a few reviews and it seems ok, i noticed it only has 1 ide socket, do most only have 1 now?

Most do yeah, the one you linked originally also only had 1 IDE slot, think it's just the normal thing now. Some more expensive boards, or boards aimed at the lower market / older stuff might have 2, but today it seems you only see 1.

yeah i noticed that after i saw the evga mobo only had one too.

i think i might have to stump up some extra cash and get a better mobo tbh,

I second the EVGA 650. Great overclockers at a great price.If you are not going SLI dont waste your money on a more expensive board.

but its Fugly lol, i just modded my case so i can see inside and i dont want to look at that all day

i think i should have been a bit more specific with my requirements, problem is the more i hink about it the more i want lol

just remembered that the board must also do raid 0, noticed that most sub £100 boards come with single lan port and no raid :confused:

has dual lan and raid plus it looks ok, i just read the thread on it but theres not much info about how it overclocks and i can get it at the same price as the ds3p.
