Hey,

I'm planning on getting an extra 2 monitors to go with my Samsung 226BW, but i'm not having much look choosing between them :(

19" ? 19" widescreen ? 20.1" (with the same res as my current) or a 22"

I can't really afford another two 226bw's but i have a budget of around £300, maybe a little over

Can anyone help me out with some suggestions?

Thanks :)

oh, and my pc specs:

abit ab9 pro
c2d 6400
2gb 800mhz
xfx 7900 gs

also, i was gonna buy a pci graphics card for the extra monitor... would this work ok? those matrox splitter things seem very expensive!

do you mind me asking what its for? not exaclty the advice you want to hear but imo its better to get one really big monitor then 2 medium monitors as bigger is always better, but this is down to personal opinion.

also again with the monitors its down to personal choice as there is quite a lot out there these days with similar specs its down to how good it will look with you current screen

Well i recently borrowed a 19" and it was awesome, i could watch movies while surfing the web or while video eiditing or just leave it fullscreen on IRC while i played counterstrike on my main monitor

i was planning on having IRC on one and my web browser on the other, but after having 2 monitors im lost without the space... specially during video editing!

Plus a bigger screen, maybe a 24 i dont thing would look good next to mine - ive thought about another 226bw, but i really like the idea of 3 so i have a main monitor right in the middle

yeah me too, defiantly looks good. well tbh i would look online, find any that will look good with your current, check google/the site its from/this forum etc for reviews and then buy 2. i just bought the 19" widesreen for £130 purely because it looks almost identical to me main 20" viewsonic screen. It's fantastic screen but the back is stupidly designed that you can't put a wall mount on it that it bigger then 75 which almost all are as they are both 75/100

i'm having no trouble finding monitors... i'm just really unsure of what size i should go for

i love the idea of having 3x1680x1050, but a good 20.1" with that res might be weird next to my 22", or 2 lower end 22" with that res that maybe wouldnt look as good...

really confused, i need opinions!!

If you have a 22" atm you could use that as your main screen and have 2 19" 4:3 (non widescreen) monitors either side. They are almost the same height so would look brilliant. :)

Exactly what I was going to say, but what about the PCI plus PCIe gfx card set-up? I tried to get something similar working on my son's set-up, he has a 1950Pro that he uses for mon 1 plus TV (32" Toshiba) and wanted to add a Pci Radeon 7000 for monitor 2. Just could not get the system to initialise both cards. On his previous Skt A system with an AGP DV8500 the Radeon 7000 worked fine to drive a second screen. Maybe it's too old to pair with the X1950.
