Hi all, very limited budget but im thinking £100-120 maximum, will be used for offroading mainly, there are thousands of bikes in this price range and I dont want to get a clanger, maybe something that can be upgraded? I would like to find a comfy seat as when I was younger I never found one.

Going to start using this to cycle to strengthen my knee and the olympics has spurred me along.

The GT looks like the pick of the bunch to me, if you can get it within your budget then you'll be able to upgrade it later. It looks like a largeish frame however, so see if you can do a test ride before you bid.

Here's a video showing how to check that the frame is a good size for you.

Is a Kona Fire mountain worth £80? looks like its £500 new from evans etc

or a Mongoose vanish full suspension for £130

Cool, going to take a look at it, can you tell me any of the specs?

its 18" Frame and im 6ft ish but my legs are only 32" so going to see if it fits okay as it seems a bargain to me

The chainslap guard at the back looks pretty worn down, as well as the crank + pedal. Wonder what's gone on there.

Can't argue with the spec for 80 quid though.

Hope so, are KONA viable for upgrades? and what would you replace first? Seat isn't the comfiest so might go for that first. Need to cable tie the brake cables

If you really want to, the fork would be my first choice for upgrading.

However, i would recommend you keep it as it is for now. See how you get on with it and how often you ride. Then if you want an upgrade, save up for a whole bike, it usually works out better value than upgrading all the bits on an older bike.
