Hey guys.

I'm trying to find a half decent mouse for £10-15 (up to £20)

I want:
Wired (either USB/PS2 is fine)
Laser preferably (or optical with no visible light)
Minimum of 2button+vertical scroll wheel+back/forward thumb buttons.

There's so many mice out there, though, that I can't sift the gold from the sand. What's good and what's not?

If you can't afford GX9 or G500 then it definitely has to be the famous mx518.
99p over your budget but it's worth it !!

Don't think about it and just order it, I bet 100% you will not be disappointed.

5000 posts worth of consensus is enough for me. I've also realised that one of my flatmates has that mouse - it's quite distinctive.

Is there a version without the textured look? I'm not majorly keen on that look. If not, I'll just live with it - I can always use my wireless mouse when not gaming :-)

another vote for the mx518, at that price bracket its the best you can get and will last you years. If it doesnt then logitechs customer support is one of the best around and will have it replaced for you in a matter of days

I use a Gigabyte GM-M6880, only costs £10.99 (not from OcUK though) and its a good mouse. Maybe not as good as the mx518 but more inside your budget.

Good choice, I second logitechs support to, lost the bluetooth adaptor for my mx revolution, sent me a new one free of charge next day delivery, I was willing to pay!!

That's pretty good of them. My keyboard is currently a cheapo logitech (pretty good for a cheap keyboard, tbh) and I quite like the fact that my desktop will match again :-)

Unfortunately, a little OCD is kicking in and now I'm looking at the sony logo on my speakers with sadness. Lovely speakers (could do with a bass control!) but they don't match.

Arrived today, I like it already :-) especially the sensitivity buttons.

Sensitivity up when kamikaze-ing into an open area (fast turning) and down when covering an entrance/sniping. The middle setting being a great best of both worlds. It doesn't fit my hand quite as well as my old mouse, but that might just be down to not being used to it. I'm still not 100% keen on the faux-indentations either, but it doesn't look bad on my desk :-)

The only downside is that it's got a red light underneath it, but it's quite faint and I can always just unplug it at night + use my old wireless one if needs be.

Cheers for the advice guys.

I just ordered one too - been meaning to get a new mouse since my gaming one (<£10 and 4 years old) went.

Thank you OP for raising the thread and knowledgable people for your answers.

personally, I wouldnt have gone for it - but bit late now :P
Reason for not getting it - I have had some nasty experiences with logitech mice xD
