Spec me a NAS box please that fits my situation.

Looking for a NAS box so i don't have to leave my HTPC on all day. Also I always worry my house might get broken into and my PC stolen !!

Looking for some sort of NAS solution that:

Holds 2 HDD in RAID for redundacy
gigabit network card
low power so g/f won't shout at me for leaving it on all day
not too expensive
Maybe even attached existing USB external drives would be nice.

Can't find anything that suits me, and I know some of you will suggest building a cheap PC however that will end up being expensive to run, and would need to configure, log into PC etc etc. Also this NAS box I could hide in a cupboard under some clothes or something so will be fairly 'safe'

I'd go for something like the D-Link DNS-323 or Thecus N2100 (can't find it here unfortunately). Haven't used either myself (ended up building my own box), but I'm sure there are plenty of reviews around.

TBH you're far better off building a PC in a cube case. For something like this, I'd proabably be using a Shuttle or similar case & a Pico PSU (Google for them)
Alternatively, you can use a proper PSU & fullsize case, and stick it in the loft/ cupboard under the stairs.
Then drop your distro of choice & Webmin onto it ( http://www.webmin.com ) & go from there- Full HTML management
