Lil. Ive demo'ed a £6000 kit and a £40 kit and thought they were both excellent.
dude in that case get this \/, it supports all your needs and it even plays uncompressed HD audio over HDMI, which is quite crazy considering the price so an ideal match for your PS3.
Yamaha DSPAX761
Google it, it can be had for £220, in fact somebody told me the other day that if you join the Richersounds VIP club (free to join) you can get it for £199 which is chump change for what your getting.
Then for now just bung these with it,
Yamaha NSP110
They can be had for around £80, just google the model number.
Don't get the Yamaha AV-4101 because it's crap, it's pretty much a fake av-receiver, in other words a seriously cut down version, the one I've listed above gives you a better upgrade route and for the money I don't think anyone can complain for a HDMI receiver that accepts uncompressed HD audio at that price, if you you catch the Hi-Fi bug you can always upgrade the speakers at a later date if you felt the need to, also this amp has pre-outs so could add a decent budget stereo amp to power your front left and right speakers (if you upgrade your speakers of courses, would be pointless doing that with the yammy speakers) so at least you could have a few upgrade paths, is this the best amp in the world, hell no, but do I believe your be more than happy with it, definitely, and it's bang on your original budget.
I'll most probably be getting this amp myself in a few weeks, although I'll be paring mine with a Nad amp powering the front L&R speakers off the pre-outs and B&W speakers.
