Having been out this weekend and finding out that he current Lowepro is far too small for my new kit (Mini Trekker) I've been left with my current only option being a Redsnapper Duo, I've decided I'd like a new backpack.

It's got to hold a 1D Mark II, 450D, Canon 17-35mm, 50mm, 28mm, 70-200mm, TC and possibly 300 2.8 on occasions, and also ablilty to attach a monopod/tripod.

It would also be great if I could also take it camping, just take the 1D and 17-35mm no tripod or anything and attach a tent, sleeping bag and carry clothes, bits and bobs and a couple of tins for food.

I'm liking the look of the National Geographic Earth Explorer series they have a nice 'vibe' and seem roughly what I'm after. But the large bag is super-expensive (possibly also a bit too big) at about £170!! The medium is too small. Is there anything else out there along these lines under about £100??

So far I've only come across the Redsnapper All Terrain Bag, looks about right, but I don't know if theres any hooks for attaching extra gear, also not quite as nice too look at as the Nat. Geo. bags?

Anyone got any thoughts?

For that amount of gear, £170 is reasonable, remember, you have like thousands and THOUSANDS of stuff in there, do you really want it to be enclosed in a bin bag (I know its a bit of an exaggeration, but you get my point)?

True.

I feel like having a go with the snapper but nobody seems to own one!! I mihgt end-up giving the national geographic bag a go. Looks good in the video, I think thats the blokes using is the large one and it looks a bit too big, heck, it weighs 4.5kg (That's almost the same weight as my actual equipment)!!! I wonder what the woman is carrying, because it's waaayyy to small for my needs. So obviously if thats the medium then thats a no go, but perhaps if it's the small bag the medium might be okay (starts playing with pieces of paper on the floor)

I might just settle for the large bag and get something smaller for other everyday use. Then it ends up being £170+£80 or so for another bag, so that redsnapper does look awfully tempting at just £80...
