I currently have a Creative Fatal1ty headset that's a good 3 or 4 years old that have served me well but are looking a bit tatty and a have loose connection problem that seems to come and go.

I was wondering if any of the headsets in the £50-60 range would offer noticeable improvement over my current set (lets pretend my current set worker perfectly).

There;s the Corsair range but I have no idea what the difference is between the various models (1300, 1400 etc) as well as the Plantronics and SteelSeries.

I use them for gaming and listening to music in equal amounts (probably more music).

Cheers.

I've kind of settled on these. Can anyone give me a reason not to buy them?

Also, I only use onboard sound, does this matter much with headphones?

As I said in a previous thread in this section I find the Kave headset to get very uncomfortable after an hour or so of use because it's extremely heavy (the headband causes pain on my head where the pads sit). The sound from them is pretty good but I wouldn't describe it as anything more.

I've been looking at these as a lighter more comfortable alternative.

i too have just bought the rocatt kave 5.1, and dam does it also hurt my head after a little while so ive sold them on and buying the Asus Echaleons

I'm currently in the market for a new headset at the moment aswell. I've been recommended Corsair and SteelSeries sets by a lot of people so I should imagine they're definitely worth checking out
