OK so upon the morrow I shall be ordering a new card, a 780 in fact , Just wanted some opinions on what one to go for ...personally I'm leaning towards MSI as I've always had good experiences with the MSI card I have chosen ...I currently running a 760 4Gig.

thanx :)

Have you considered getting a 6GB 780? There is not a huge difference in price from the 3GB ones and it won't hurt to have more, even though the usual advice is you don't need it now.

Hardocp show a 3GB 780 getting significantly lower minimum fps at 1080p ultra on watchdogs: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2014/06/11/asus_strix_gtx_780_oc_6gb_review_exclusive/3#.U6f6r7Ejo70

Just makes you think it could be worse with the prices when I remember the 4GB 680s like the palit jetstream used to have a premium of around £200 on the 2GB ones. Now you can get 6GB for £40 more then the cheapest 3GB card here. Not saying that I'm complaining about that Gibbo :p

I like the look of quite a few of the 780 models. In your shoes, I would probably narrow it down to the Gigabyte, MSI and also the EVGA card that Greg mentioned. If it's of any help, I've had the pleasure of using the Gigabyte windforce cooler on a 480 and 570, and I wasn't disappointed. Brilliant cards with UK rma too.

Personally own MSI GE 780, and it works perfectly, there's next to no difference between fans at 50 and 100% so if you want, you can even have it at 100% with next to no noise difference.

My ones work slightly hot though, the top one gets to 75C and the bottom one to 70-72C during stress tests, but I personally can live with that.

Also, personally I wouldn't advice to go with Asus, had bad experience with them in the past, other than that, Gigabyte, MSI, EVGA make awesome cards. Might also consider KFA2 since I heard some good things about them.

Given that there has been complaint's on the GPU forum recently about MSI fan's failing I'd think again on MSI, personally Asus have always been great but I'd pick EVGA or Gigabyte with a preference on EVGA for their warranty!

Oh lol.....I didn't see all these added posts until this morning , sadly I was on a bit of a budget in as much as spend as little as I can ( was told that just before making my order ). I would have gone for the 6Gig version , Also I didn't go for the Gigabyte as in the past I have had very noisy windforce cards , And I didn't want AMD :)

Anyway went with this

partly the price ...but mostly cos all the MSI cards I have owned to date have been fine never had an issue :)
