Spec me a new Router please?

i'd agree, why would you want to spend up to a £5 more on a product that's not as good and with a brand that isn't highly regarded.
 
I did read good reviews about the TP-Link one as well, and both of them are about the same price elsewhere.
I thought Asus is 300Mbps and TP-Link is 450Mbps?

I've just bought the TP-link router and have spent more time resetting it than online I think. It's hopeless. I'm just about to ring the help desk for the 4th time. They said the new firmware would help.. Just won't stay connected to the Internet for long. I keep having to reboot it.

Seems like 56U it is then.

I even considered 66U as it is only £22 more but seems like 56U has more throughput.
DD-WRT would have been nice but it seems I can flash custom firmware(I want some good QOS features).

I shall be ordering today to get the week end deal - if any thing else comes up, please do let me know :)

you do not have guest network options.

i've recently got the N55U which i've checked is just the same but with ADSL modem built-in. according to product pictures on asus website it does have guest network feature however i dont appear to see it on the router config page. maybe i need to do a firmware update or something

I have few people visiting frequently who wants wifi access in there laptops and/or mobile phones.
I have a strict mac address controlled environment and now have to disable the mac address control every time they come, which is a pita when I am in but some times when my wife is in....well they can't get internet access :)
 
yeah i just updated the firmware to the latest official. i think that the N56U might get the same firmware update allowing it guest network options.
 
I'm getting this on Wednsday.
I was thinking of trying the custom firmware straight away rather than official one, or will I miss any features?
