Spec me a new TV for under £700

playing devils advocate - I'm not convinced the merit of 120hz displays isn't overplayed -
you only need 24hz for films and 50/60 for tv, (except for Ange Lee's 120hz Billy Lynn);
motion interpolation or black-frame insertion rely on high frame rate screens, but personally have the former set at minimum even with a 120hz panel.

In so much that a 120hz panel, may indicate the underlying processor is faster and may have better algorithms for upscaling/noise-reduction/..? that might justify 120hz;
albeit there are counter examples - the 120hz c8's are still waiting for their posturization/noise-reduction firmware fixes.

Nothing wrong with panasonic just because you maanged to find a duff one before doesn't mean they are all duff. The same could be said for most premium brands. Sony, Samsung, Panasonic and LG the high end stuff are all very good and reliable.

Panasonic? I'm STILL waiting for my TH42PX80B Plasma to pack up after buying it in 2008. Bloody thing. I am going to replace it soon though because I don't think they're the most energy efficient TVs, and tbf the technology has moved on a bit now.

i know thats probably the main reason i want to get rid of it with how warm it gets lol. Not up to date with TV tech these days but with a budget of around £400 the Samsung UE55NU7400 looks good.

never even heard of fald lol. The thing is OLED are out of my price range i think, seem to be well upwards of £500.

£500 isnt enough for an upgrade from plasma more of a side grade.

What you gain in increase in resolution you will lose elsewhere.

You need to spend £1000 to £1500.
