After having a one hour plus failure of the wireless on my router (probably caused by overheating) and with the sudden signal decreasing at times I've decided to get shot of it and get something newer which has to....

Be around £40
Support WEP encryption (required by nintendo DS )
Not be a belkin (had one and it was pants so no more)
Be able to configure IP addresses to be set for specific devices (and for it not to get erased in the event of a power cut)

Linksys e1000 should do nicely. or e2000 if you think it's worth the extra money...

as for the IP reservation, just set the DHCP pool to a smaller amount of IP addressses, say 192.168.1.150 to 192.168.1.199
then manually assign ones outside that range on the specific devices i.e. 192.168.1.120
