Hi,

A mate of mine has a max budget of £450 for monitor, keyboard, mouse and base unit. Now I have been out of computers for a few too many years to give him recommendations. Can anyone spec me a system that is good for the money?

Sorry, completely slipped my mind! Yes for gaming, so the best that you can do on the tight budget.

Oh jeez, i'm in trouble now  :D

You might have to go pre-built for the price and accept that games are a bit unrealistic at the moment.

For what it is worth this is about the best I can do for the budget, it offer a reasonable amount of overclocking potential considering the price. :)

Meh...

It's not as good as semi-pro's

EDIT: 380 W should be plenty for such a rig. The X1950 Pro is decidedly stingy on power when compared to other similar-performing cards.

Just wanted to point out overclocking and a cheap low w PSU may not be the best idea in the world.

Maybe have a look at some of the B-grade and seconds section too.
