hi guys just about to place an order for a new pc and would like some advice on the best components i could get for £700? i dont need a case but will need a PSU etc

ive also got an OCZ Vertex 2E 60GB on the way but would like 3 additional drives to run in raid 5 for storage. Pc is going to be used for gaming (mostly WoW) and general web browsing etc.

dont think anything in my old pc is worth salvaging (old spec bellow)

which chipset is your MB?
would anyone think a Q6600/q9550 + new GPU be a good alternative to a new pc for T180985

The 4850 you've got is still a pretty competent card, not much point in 'upgrading' from that to a 5770. Depends on your uses, are you happy with the performance you get from it?

re-read the first post, see that you got a SSD coming, so the eco-green will do for general storage.

or for more money, a i5 750 overclocked bundle.

by a few fps... they might have turned turbo boost off or something aswell because the difference in games that cant use more than 3 cores is only 100mhz.

on my 1055t stock settings im only using around 30-40% cpu usage in games as games become better programed for mulitple cores and they will the 1055t would have been the much better purchase.

you can easily overclock a 1055t even on the stockcooler to 3.4ghz

would prefer to go down the Intel route, are the i3 processors a lot slower than the i5? sorry not really in touch with whats considered good anymore
