Yeah, if he's going to be overclocking then spending some money on a decent heatsink would be wise. An Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro would do the job pretty nicely.

Well tbh I dont think he's in for the idea of clocking it...... at least not yet, hence me asking if its worth just trying to use the extra £40 on a higher model CPU/VGA card?

not really theyre probably the best you will get for the £££
having a better heatsink is good on standard too really runs cooler and probably quieter, but its not essential so if money is tight dont bother
