When you hard reset the MDA pro (in my case) soft reset it before the tmobile cab starts installing everything. When it starts up, you have a blank canvas basically. You need to set all the message centre etc. manually thats about it really. I think i found out where to do it on the xda dev site. I'm popping out now, when i get back later, i'll try and write something conclusive up :).

Be appreciated, is it that much faster without all there crap?

Oops totally forgot, yes mine seemed faster after that. But that might have been because i updated the rom at the same time :o.

Just get the latest MDA pro rom, which i've seen you post about (i still havent got round to getting that). Update your pro and then when it starts up for the first time it counts down i think for 5 seconds before it starts instaill the tmobile stuff. Just reset it quick (you need guts to do this for the first time :p). When it starts up again your left with a HTC universal before anything special has been added.

You could probably do the same and use the I-mate and Qtek roms, but i haven't gone that far myself, although its probably an good idea because they'd be free of even more crap i'd assume.

Thats it really, thats as far as i've got in terms of ridding myself of the tmobile parp. Then i installed wisbar advance which seems to habe slowed everything down again. Swings and roundabouts... :(

//Edit2: In fact, if you want the latest and greatest look here, it's out VERY soon, it will be one of HTC's first self branded phones :).

Not neccassarily the greatest. ;) The specs arent fantastic.

Well, not the greatest, but for it's size it's specs are unbelievable. Can't believe they left the VGA res screen off though ..
What do you suggest is better? I have the MDA pro now, but compared to the hermes its a brick.

Well its all down to personal preferance I suppose, xdas were designed with pda functionality first and as a mobile second, and that is what I bought one for, so I wanted a big screen, fast cpu and lots of ram, htcs mic quality is awful anyway so you have to use a bt headset to get decent call quality.
