as the title says really, im looking for an air cooled processor cooler for about £35 (don't want to do water just yet). i was originally looking at this one, but im 95% sure it wont fit in my case (too tall). also, the price has snuck up about £2 since a few weeks ago.

i am not in desperate need of a new one, and am willing to wait several months if it would be worth it.

here are the relevant specs:
case: coolermaster Elite 342
- 180mm wide, not sure of width from Mobo to case edge
motherboard: Asus M4A88T-M AMD 880G
- Socket AM3
- RAM is in the two slots furthest from the cooler (the overclocked ram slots)
RAM: OCZ Special Ops 4GB

forgot to say, the main reason i want a new fan is because the standard AMD phenom cooler us unacceptably loud, so something thats really quiet would go down very well

the scythe ninja 3 is a great cooler in that price range, i have 1 i bought from ocuk i dont use as my corsair vengeance memory heatsinks were to large so i bought a hydro cooler instead
 
I would have to recommend the Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus within that price range (not that I'm biased of course ;)). I spent many hours looking through reviews and they all seemed to point in this direction. It can also be had for £15 new off the net.

I just put together my first ever build and using a akasa viper heating and so far I'm very impressed.idle temps at 31-33 and max load low four ties.10 degrees off the stock cooler issued with chip.think it is around 35 pound in overclockers shop.

Sorry didn't realise you were looking at this previously....that's a Shame it doesn't fit m8

just had a look at the coolermaster site, and that is just as tall as the venom.

it MIGHT just squeeze in if the heat pipes that stick out of the top could poke out of the side fan grill, but i really doubt this will happen.

oh, i forgot to mention, i will be getting this when i have the free shipping, so that doesnt need to be included in the price

thanks for all the help so far guys. im pretty clueless when it comes to coolers, except that bigger normally means better, which is a pain in the bum
