Indeed. I still prefer it to my PS3 headset for sound quality however while the cable is surprisingly long i do rely on the official wireless headset when i play in the living room.

Price an issue? if not then a good usb headset is the Tritton AxPro not only will it work with the ps3 giving audio and voice but it will also work on the xbox 360, of course there are other more expensive headsets as well.
I thought mine was great but it decided not to work after a week
using the official sony one now which is also very good .
