...for my mum.
ok ok not the best of starts, but I'll fill you in on the criteria.
Light, without costing the moon
Gears, no more than six (perhaps three, like them old fashioned hub gears) or none at all.
Folding.
Price, (the limiting factor) ~ £150, certainly no more. Having had a quick google I think she's going to be **** out of luck.
OK, she's a pensioner and wants a bike to give her knees a bit of exercise (don't suggest an indoor exercise thing) and to get down the road to the fields where she takes the dogs for a walk.
She's not after anything trendy or 'specialised with loads of gizmoes' (her words not mine). She did have a folding bike, but it was as heavy as my car and just as rusty so it went to the scrap man in the sky. She saw one of those commuter bike things recently and though it might suit the bill.
Really I'm after some suggestions as to manufacturer and perhaps any places online that we could check out as a supplier. Don't know much about bikes myself other than the lighter it is, the more expensive, roughly speaking.
Ta.
