Spec me a route from Rome to Venice

So we made the final decision; we were between traveling to a number of attractions throughout the country VS remaining in two cities to absorb and relax. We chose the later and decided to cancel Venice.

Florence - 4 nights
Naples - 4 nights

Florence: relax around the city, hopefully stay one night in a suburb town and a day visit to Bologna
Naples: Amalfi Coast, Pompei, Sorento, Capri

Thanks again to everyone for the great suggestions, they genuinely did help.

Any suggestions for sports car rentals that don't break the bank?

I found King Rentals but they haven't got a quote back to me yet, would be phenomenal to rent a Ferrari or a Porsche for the single day I drive from Florence to Naples. Or I'd be happy with a not so fancy sports car for the entire week if it's not crushingly expensive.

Firenze is decent.
Viterbo is quite good if you find the smaller bars/diners - and like smaller non-touristy places, but it's a short drive from Rome.
Modena/Maranello would be on the the way if you're into your cars.

Have you considered getting a train from Florence to Naples:

Not too expensive and a quick journey. The drive would be on the autostrada so wasted and then get a sports car to do the Amalfi drive.

Florence, San Gimignano, Siena. It's a nice drive through the countryside between them, and well worth it.

Nice tip! The train journey is 3 hours VS car in 6 and I've been told driving around the Amalfi coast is fantastic so the sports car there would be ideal.

Thanks Cosimo!
