budget up to 80 quid, would prefer 70 for delivery overheads..

..looking for it to do wireless N and be able to maintain a connection.

dual band would be nice but it's not essential.

thank you :)

oh yeah, sorry lol

it's cable, won't be using a vpn but there will be a lot of midnight bittorrent action.

basically i'm looking for anything that performs better than virgin's "Dlink DIR-615", i dunno what linksys are like, they used to be balls but i have their dual band pci internal card now so i'm thinking it might work better with a matching router, no?

the pci card in question is this one

I have the WRT610n, a little more than your budget allows at around £100 but it's a brilliant bit of kit, especially with DD-WRT installed :)

Have you tried DD-WRT on your 615?

yes, it destroyed Wireless N, making only B/G connections possible, then a reflash bricked it.

it's in a post a few pages down :(

Strange. I recently flashed a 615 D4 with DD-WRT and N works fine. I'll check out your other thread, I'm sure bricked 615's can be recovered somehow.

nah, after bricking it i chucked it out and had virgin send another, which is also ****.

i'd rather just buy an aftermarket one, then i might attempt to DD-WRT the other one and use two routers, one for me, one for the missus.

I have a Netgear WNR3500

It's dual band, has GigE ports and has worked faultlessly over the last 6 months. Nice and easy to set up too.

Avoid Edimax.
