Spec me a RTS game pls...

Is it me or is C&C the only futuristic based RTS there is, having played them all to death, incuding TA, im now stuck to find another to get into.
Seems 99% are all based on WW1/2 or Rome, stuff like that, where I realy prefer them to have a futuristic feal to them.
Maybe im doing myself a great injustice by not trying games like CoH, I cant help but feel that surely there are games like C&C out there somewhere.

So if anyone can reccomend something along the C&C lines, does'nt have to be that recent either.......while I go away and force myself to play the CoH demo if there even is one :)
 
Dawn of war is about the best i think. Altho its not a standard C&C game with respect to the units it plays very simlar.
I no you said you where not intrested in rome type games, however if you havent played rome total war I recomend you give it ago. I havent found a RTS game that compairs with it since shogan total war was released. Might not be your cup of tea but its definatly worth a go.
 
definatly try coh, to be honest im almost tempted to say its the best rts ive ever played. i enjoy all types of rts, but this has to be my favourite i think. There is a demo, its 1.8gb tho but definatly worth the download!.

If you decide to buy coh, you get dawn of war free :)
 
Seems you get Dawn Of War free with Comany Of Hero's so im downloading the CoH demo's and i'll give that a try.
I just looked at Rome Total War and the first screenshot I saw was a elephant killing people :confused: so yeah I likes the laser's more than death by mammals, but there is a demo for that too so i'll que that up in fileplanet also :)

Roll on 2007 I say.

Darn it 1.8gig for CoH demo, damn Zen internet and there download caps :( I wont have the space to get it untill reset tomorrow now.

There's loads of futuristic RTS other than C&C:

Dawn of War + expansions
Starcraft + Broodwar
Homeworld 2
Star Wars Empire at War
Ground Control
Ground Control 2
Nexus: The Jupiter Incident

and many many more. I haven't played most of those however, but the first 3 are very highly regarded. DoW is superb and the best RTS I've played since RA2.
 
yer nexus was a fantastic game, as was home world 2. I wasnt too impressed with ground control altho i didnt give it much time. I h8ed empire at war.
 
I don't usually play/like RTS games,but i have just ordered coh,downloaded the demo & i've been converted

What an amazing game :eek: :D

I have actualy done all the blizzard games star/warcraft, gonna settle down to the CoH demo in a little while, I have high hopes, hope I do like it as with it being bundled with DoW and at 24.99 in some places it seems quite the bargain.
 
Well I completed the demo, sort of enjoyed it, the graphics are great but its the soldiers voices that crack me up :D
There is a lot to take in and was annoyed by a few little things, like the engineer AI, they would build sandbag/wire walls and lock them self off on the enemy side rather that stay on the allied side of the bridge.
Game overall reminds me a lot of call of duty, exspecialy the first level.
If it was'nt for the DoW free game with it, I wouldnt of ordered it but that swinged it for me. Gives me a couple of RTS's to complete before the big guns arrive.
