As above, want a smaller can for the bike as stock one on mine sticks out a bit wide and is v long. Willing to make some "adjustments" to the mounts to fit something else...what is recommended by you bikers?

Other things:

Going to do chain and sprockets by myself - any pit falls to look out for? Im spanner competent so not phased by this at all.

Also looking for advice on front disks and pads - Ive heard good things about EBC kevlar pads but what disks or other reccomendations?

Cheers,

Perry.

Any aftermarket one will do . Just checked the bay but nothing decent on there atm :(

Ebc pads are fine but do you really need disks?
As for chain and sproket . Do you have a chain tool ? most big bikes have a riveted link and require a chain tool to fit (or a mate 2 hammers and a punch ) Easy enough job though . Also think about adding 2 teeth to rear (check renthals) as will give a decent boost to acceleration .

Wait for something from ebay, not really worth buying new because of the value of the bike. However, if you insist on new... an exhaust from "Fuel" or "Carbon Can Co" would probably be the cheapest option (and quality from both is very good).

Cheers for the replies.
I have a chain tool I can borrow so no issues there.
Im liking the sound of the upping the rear by two teeth - sounds a good upgrade.
As to the exhaust - found a few and will keep looking.
Pads - want more bite so will do pads and disks same time - probably dont need doing but want more stopping power.

Im desperate for a fuel guage - reckon its do-able to fit newer clocks with the guage and fit the sender to one of the 1997 CBrs?

Well nobody really uses there top speed of there bike so make use of the extra power by going up a few teeth or even better up 2 at back down 1 at front . Im running 15-42 atm and makes a huge difference .

I still dont think disks will improve yer stopping power . Unless there badly worn/groved . Better to rebuild calipers (seal kit) and new pads and if you dont have already braided hoses .

Never bothered with fuel guages and never found them accurate . Tend to get 80-100 miles to a tank and 15 when the light comes on . I just set my trip evertime i fill up .

Im sure with abit of work you could use a more modern dash and sensor but its a lot of work for little benefit .

Yep, see where you coming from with the sprockets - seems like a done deal!
No braided hoses but on my list - so will check pads tonight and consider doing pads/hoses/calipers.

Yes - guess I need to get used to using the trip counter - looks like helluva lot of work to change the clocks to newer ones.

The Braided hoses will make a decent difference . They say you should change rubber ones every few years . Checkout some of the regular bike forums as quite often get deals on Hell brake lines by mentioning them .

You dont have to do the seals but a good inspection clean should really help . But if the bike is a few years old and its never been done it will really freshen them up .
