Spec me a smoking jacket

I've always wanted a smoking jacket and I've decided it's about time to take the plunge and get one. Since I'm a noob to them, is a smoking jacket a smoking jacket? Are they all the same or are there different styles? Where can I get one from, I've tried Debenhams but just got really weird looks.

So go on, spec me a smoking jacket.

It HAS to be Frogged madam! Are smoking jackets not made from a silky sort of quilted material though? Or is it velvet?

Smoking jackets are shawl collared and usually velvet or silk. Colours normally available are black, green, navy, burgundy, red or gold. A good made to measure one can cost in the region on £400-£500. I know far too much about smoking jackets. Two friends and I once decided this would be a marvellous idea... one green, one red and one gold iirc
