I have both at home and work, 2 computers and multiple screens that I would like to use one mouse with and one keyboard, and ideally switch between monitors (but can work around that).
Old days you'd just get a KVM and be done, but I've heard there are software solutions now...?

Anyone used any? What do people recommend and do they work across windows / macs?

Thank you for your assistance.

Kind regards,

Best,

Me.

On my mac servers at work I use an App called Teleport, if I move my mouse off to the left/right of the screen it will swap to use the mouse/keyboard on the other designated server, you have to swap the screen inputs manually though.

I didn't need monitor switching as my monitor has 2 inputs anyway so just use a USB switch plugged in to a hub with the keyboard / mouse, cost about £9 I think.

Rarely use both machines at once though, just saves messing with cables.

I use two machines at home, one for general use and then another for storing files that I don't need to keep on the main machine.

Install Teamviewer on both machines but on the storage machine set the connection ID to be static and then set a connection password so you don't need to click allow on the storage machine to connect.
