Use to have Freelancer and loved every second of it

Are there any similar upto date game's out?Somthing with a fairly simple control system.I tryed X2 the threat but found the control's to complex and gave up :mad:

I just started trying to get into X3 again now the new patch is out. It makes the game actually playable.

Other than that, the classic Frontier : Elite II.

Same here, installed it last night and i can definately say with the new patch it is a lot more playable, although, i still dont know where to start... its a big universe.

there is also a thread on here "the babylon project" which is a nice babylon5 mod, which includes the free source version of freespace 2

takes a bit of getting it to work but once you have its a fun game, if a bit short.

But, freespace2 is more of a military version of the space sims (or at least what I have seen of it) rather than the trade side of freelancer etc.

yeah, i've found ONE bunch of pirates.

that's it. so far just been floating about finding systemns. don't know where to go to make money

Definitely FreeSpace 2, very simple controls, but an amazing game with great story and atmosphere.

Freespace 2 plus mods is excellent, the controls feel simple and intuitive even though they have quite a lot of different options.
