My Dell laptop is around 2 years old and still easily up to it's job but...

I thought I'd give it a new lease of life by putting a SSD in there and moving from Vista HP to Windows 7.

Current drive is Seagate 80gb so I should stick with that as a target size. Usage is web, media, device sync and very occasional games.

Budget is £150 or so.

When I came close to buying a few months ago it seemed to
be the Intel X-25M.

Any tips appreciated.

Well for that money you could get a Vertex 2E 90 GB or Vertex 2 100 GB from the orangey retailer. The 90 GB is ~£135 (3.5" version).

At this point you're likely to get the newer, slower 25 nm NAND revision but at least you wouldn't lose any capacity (as you would with the 60 or 120 GB ones).
