I'm looking for a new car stereo not looking to pay a bomb but am wanting something of a good quality, it would also be nice if I could plug my iPod into it to save carting round my CD collection with me. Other than that I have no other requirements as I have no idea what goes on in the car stereo world.:D

Of course the front will need to be removable or some other sort of security but I guess that's pretty much a standard thing now.

Can anyone recommend a model?

I have just got a Pioneer 7900 UB

Well worth checking out, Ipod control and a USB input.

Means you can add a nice laptop drive in your car ;)

^ yeah i was looking at them but they were a little over budget for me at the time. ended up buying a second hand 8600mp for its high sq rating.

the 7900 had some excellent reviews, apparently it can handle a 40gb hard drive filled to the brim with mp3s comfortably.

halfruads has a nice kenwood system with aux input for 50quid just now.

Looking for one myself, what do people think of the JVC avx2?

whats your budget?

I have a new pioneer one with bluetooth, DAB and I pod and love it. Used to have a Pioneer x1, but that was just too flash and *** sat nav on it was *****

Probably about 100 notes, I'm not too bothered about all the flash iPod speciality stuff just a line in would suffice. :)

I've got the previous model (AVX1) and it's a decent enough head unit. My only real complaint is the lack of buttons for changing radio station, I like to flick and it takes 3 button presses with the JVC.

Yeah could get the avx1 for 150, looks great might go for the avx2 just for divx playback though! ;)
