On the eyepiece front, I can recommend the BST Explorer series (now called Starguider) sold by "Skies the Limit". Have a look in stargazers lounge in the eyepieces forum and you'll see numerous mentions. I have a barlow but never use it; the BST are cheap enough (£49 a pop) that you can get all the ones you need. Great optics, excellent field of view, and twist up eyecups which are great for a glasses wearer like me.
