Spec me a tent -

a bit more information would help tbh,, like where u r planning to use it? how often?

Decent tent? Argos?

Go to a camping shop that has a camping showroom. That way you can see the exact size of tent and if it is large enough. Or course, is it for winter, summer, wet, dry, torrential rain?

It's often a good idea to get a tent rated for one more person than you need - yes, you probably will both fit in a two person tent, but with whatever gear you're carrying, and having to move around and get changed it will get cramped pretty quickly. A three man tent just gives that extra bit of room.

It's hard to go wrong with Vango, especially if you're spending a decent amount on it (as in, not one of their low end models, something above £60).

I have a Vaude 2 man that's not too bad, depends as the others say what you need it for, for a festival, argos cheap job then throwaway. If camping you want to be comfortable :)

For what? Summer/Winter? Walking/Car camping? 2ppl + living space/ storage space?

2 adults, some storage space, mainly summer/autumn weather. Never been camping before, so some advice would be helpful such as should I get a 3-4 person tent if there is 2 of us for comfort ?

Here is what I'm looking at now:

I would go with a vango, if fact, I did :). Got a 2 man with a porch, best thing is, you can roll the whole lot up as one and pack it in the bag. Easy to set up, easy to pull down. It was fantastic in Kielder in October, despite torrential rain and sub zero temps.

I think its the Beta 450 I bought, ex display, perfect nick, and paid £90 for it :)

Philly: Spectre 200 i've got, £80. I think it's the 2010 model... haven't had much of a chance to take it out in any extreme weather conditions yet, but i can't fault it :)

If your after a 2 man tent, get a 4 man tent. Never know if you might pick someone up ;). I got a 2 man tent, lots of space. Was on offer at halfords.

We have a Hi Gear Kalahari 8, it's a fantastic tent, 2-4 bedrooms and large living area.

Other than that go to a specialist like Go Outdoors and see what you like.

If you need more advice just ask as me the good lady go camping on a regular basis during the summer months.

If you want a 2man tent, get a 3 man... However many people you want it to accommodate, always add one...

Like others have said though, Argos is fine...

I would look at something with more 'living/storage' space than the ones you posted. a 3man tent will happily take a double inflatable mattress. So my suggestion would be 3man with extra space/room. Depending on how comfy you want to be when the weather is bad (it sounds like camp site stuff you will be doing) then a living area that you can stand up in is a huge advantage. I have this table/chairs which fitted into a big living space and made it feel like home from home...no need to rough it if your car camping ;)

Vango beta 350 (as suggested above) and a much better website to be looking at ;)

RE sleeping bags, you need to decide what temps you will be camping in.
Argos do good 2 season bags, but seriously, if you are looking at temps around or below zero, then you will need to go for something decent. Trust me! My first Kielder autimn (out of season) was -5 degrees. Bought the thickest argos had. It was no where near enough. I shivered so much through the night I never slept for than a few minutes.

The second year I decided to double bag it, and bought a double sleeping bag from argos to go over the top. Also was not enough for the same temps.

Third time, it went down to -13. Luckily I decided enough was enough, went and bought a proper 3 season sleeping bag with a fleece liner. I was so warm it was unreal. Awesome bag, even without the liner it was warm. My nose was like an icicle the next morning, but even so it was excellent. Cost me around £130 for both.

The bag is excellent, as it has an extra fat setting for those of us with our own insulation. :D

O bought from elsewhere, but they took over 3 weeks for delivery so would not recommend.
