At the moment I have a basic toaster, it's hard to keep clean, doesn't cook the break right through, and doesn't take larger slices of bread.

suggestions? don't worry about money too much.

I bought this one as my old 2 slice Tefal jobby was crap with modern, larger slice, bread. With the 4 slice toaster I just put my Warburtons Toastie slices in sideways and they get toasted toastily.

I got this: http://www.johnlewis.com/230475845/Product.aspx

DeLonghi Icona. It's well made, takes wide bread and has loads of functions that I never use. It has come down in price a bit too now and there's a nice kettle to match. Looks quality.

Easy to clean using the sliding crumb trays underneath, but there is a little 'gutter' that I can't get to to clean out the crumbs. 9/10.

Do people actually clean their toaster? Personally I don't see the point, not cleaned it since i've had it, 3 years.

Just go to your local electronics store, look at toasters, you can see what will take big bread etc.
