Spec me a torch

I would highly recommend a Fenix L2D - I use one for UE and its a fantastic bit of kit. If you want something smaller, then maybe the L1D will do?

Edit:

These two pics were lit with the L2D, the 2nd one was a light-painted long exposure shot but you can see it lights up the room very well :)

How big is a Fenix L2D then? What is it comparable to in size? And can you change the beam on it? Say between a focussed beam and a wide beam?

You cant change it from wide beam to spot beam but it does have different levels of output, some blurb from the Fenix website:

Utilizes a Cree 7090 XR-E LED with a life of 50,000 hours
Two modes of output, selected by turning the bezel (patented)
General Mode: 9 lumens (55hrs) -> 40 lumens (10.5hrs) -> 80 lumens (4hrs) -> SOS
Turbo Mode: 135 lumens (2.4hrs) -> Strobe
Digitally Regulated for Constant Brightness
Uses two 1.5V AA ( Alkaline, Ni-MH, Lithium ) batteries, inexpensive and widely available
14.7cm (L) x 2.1cm (D)
Made of aircraft grade aluminum
Durable Type III hard anodized finish
56-gram weight (excluding batteries)
Waterproof to IPX-8 Standard
Toughened ultra clear glass lens with AR coating
Push-button tail cap switch
Capable of standing up securely on a flat surface to serve as a candle

Fenix have released the new L2D with the Rebel LED inside which produces 175 lumens on Turbo mode, I wont be getting one of those till my current L2D dies on me.

As for size, its 2 and a half AA battery's long and not much fatter than an AA battery.

Get a maglite 6D torch. powerful and nice & heavy. Good to have around the house

And get an LED upgrade kit for it. Improved beam and battery life, and it has a sexy blue glow to it.

Inova X5 tactical lights are good - well made and wont let you down.

Surefire E2E - similar to the Inova

Madjak Police - budget busting but great little torch.

Does anyone in this thread have any experience of the other fenix torches in the range? I've decided to get a fenix but which one :confused:

I can't decide between the L2T, L2D and the P3D
