Spec Me A UPS For Home Use

I'm more concerned with data corruption on my server in the event of a power cut however remote the chances of it happening.
If data is saved to disk (standard technology - not obsolete technology filesystems such as FAT), then unexpected power cuts cause no data loss.

UPS is for temporary (and dirty) power. Hardware protection is not provided by a plug-in UPS. Read its numeric specs to appreciate that. Hardware protection is located elsewhere. UPS does only one function - provide temporary power.

Personally i always use APC UPS's only on servers though at home, desktops or anything else i don't bother.

Unless you tend to suffer from regular but very brief (1 minute) power problems the UPS linked won't do much except for allowing for a single clean shutdown.

After a single shutdown you'd probably be looking at 8 hours+ of recharge time after the power is restored before you could trust it to handle another outage.
