If anyone has any experience with setting up home VoIP I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I want to be able to make and receive calls via an enterprise grade Ethernet VoIP handset (Avaya) that I have at home.

I guess I would need to find a VoIP cloud based provider to enable me to receive and make calls via a traditional telephone number that I can pass to external clients but I'm at a bit of a loss as to what I need to do to make this all happen. I know that apps exist, and Skype etc but I'd like to make use of a physical handset on my desk.

Would anyone be able to help? Or am I missing something obvious? Thanks!

Sipgate?

Don't know if their service will work with your particular phone or not.

I was recently trying their basic option with a Grandstream ATA and it works perfectly.

yeah Sipgate is good been using the basic service for 3 years never had any problems. I'm using a cisco 112 ata with a normal domestic handset but they support proper VoIP phones i believe.

I'm going to see about getting onto Sipgate to see what they can do with my issue. Both Sky and BT has lost my phone number leaving me with a dead phone line and a new number that cannot receive calls or make calls out. Nor will they try to fix the issues.

They keep delaying it nor rectifying the issue. Lost my landline for over a month now.

Sipgate basic here to..

Easily configured on any VOIP device (I've got a Fritzbox router with VOIP, and some Cisco VOIP desk phones).

Been thinking of this myself for a while to be fair for a small start up am working on.

Anyone used Zendesk Talk? Have used the Chat and CS tools so was thinking of going back and taking Talk also
