It is between these two now:
LG F1481TD
Samsung WF0804X8E

I think I may go for the Samsung now. I like the Eco Bubble thing as well. Am trying to be invironmentally concious nowadays. :o

5 years warranty is really good as well.

£423 delivered - http://www.electrocentreltd.com/viewproduct.asp?pid=7553

We bought the 9kg steam LG (in black) when our previous one died. Only issue so far was a door seal that tore but they replaced it free of charge and very quickly. Uses a lot less powder etc to get the same level of cleanliness and auto detects the weight etc so only runs for as long as it needs to.

people don't connect their own washing machines ?
it takes about 2 minutes I don't see why anyone would pay to have one installed.

seriously if you can plug in a plug socket and connect a watering hose to a tap you can connect a washing machine

And I'm pretty sure Oldcoals has gone out to many a poorly installed washing machine where they left the transport bolts in.
I know we at Indesit (Hotpoint/Creda) used to get loads in our repair shop.

We bought a ex display hotpoint from comet got it home plugged it and plumbed it in and it shook all over the shop and wouldn't open. Called hotpoint who sent a repair guy who took out the transport bolts and all was ok

He did get slightly cocky but when I reminded him the instructions were locked in the drum and this was our first washer he wound his neck back in

It is pretty common as is tiling up to an appliance. :D

Look what arrived today... the LG F1481TD from John Lewis and price matched to Electro Centre Ltd :)

JL had initially said it would take 7 days to be delivered but LG had a backlog so it took 10 days... for that JL will give me a gesture of good will.

LG use Expert Logistics to deliver and also fit the washing machine free of charge. What they didn't mention was that the old washing machine had to be out, so when they got there we asked for help to do it. The guy refused to help, was quite rude and said that we had 2 minutes otherwise they would just leave the washing machine and go. I will be complaining to JL about that.

The old machine being removed is standard practice for lots of these big companies. If they damage the plumbing they are responsible hence they normally charge for fitting etc.

Did they explain the tub clean feature, you will need that if you don't use powder.

Wish they had told me that before. Surely if they can attach the new washing machine to the plumbing they can remove the old one, as either way they are touching the plumbing? The half turn stop on the hot water pipe wasn't working properly, but they were in such a rush that they just shoved the washing machine in and started a rinse cycle.

Later on yesterday evening we had to take the machine out, dry up the leaking water and then put the old hot water pipe back on and make it come round the machine and into a bucket. We have a plumber coming tomorrow to sort that out but I would have preferred they actually bothered to look and advise us of the issue.

What is the tub clean function? They didn't really explain anything... they didn't even level the machine properly, so on a spin cycle it vibrated so much that you could feel it all across the kitchen worktop.

John Lewis will price match online prices?

I read somewhere that John Lewis have price matched them before if you use their address, so I just used their registered address :)

The tub clean function is exactly what it says. Washing powder contains bleach, liquids do not.

There is natural bacteria in the water, washing machines are warm and wet, the bacteria grows. Without bleach the bacteria clings to the door seal and turns black.

One a month, activate the tub clean function, add a capful of bleach directly into the tub.

There is absolutely no need to buy and type of cleaner that is for sale, they are a waste of money.

Ahh Right. Thanks for explaining that. Fortunately we use powder so there should be no need to use that.

I'm glad I purchased from JL... as soon as I told them what happened they refunded an additional £75 on top of the £70.05 for the price match. Total cost of this washing machine was £324 :D

Something you can possibly advise me on... what is the best way to get it level? Since its under the counter, I can't adjust the rear legs once it is in and our kitchen isn't fully even. It doesn't wobble once it is in, but during a spin cycle it does noticeably vibrate and I am not sure if that is normal or not.
