Hi there, as my title says ive finally decided to pull the trigger on watercooling after getting a tax refund. I have a budget of £300 to watercool my pc would like to cool the gpu but that could be done at a later date. So pretty much I need everything but a few conditions, I dont like pump/res combos or id buy the pre made kits also I dont want a bay res. So if you can spec me something that includes a 240 rad max cba to mod my case to accomadate a 360 but could fit a 240 and 120 easily.

Needs :-

CPU block
Tubing (Clear Black and White yes i want all 3 colours as i want to try something with alternating colours)
Fittings (not sure on how many and which type of these to get)
Coolant (thinking of going red)
Pump + pump top.(dont want a combo)
Res (prefer a tube res)
Fans
Cutters
Jumper
*GPU block and backplate budget allowing will add at a later date if not)*

and anything else I may have missed off.

I look forward to any help that is received.

XSPC EX240 120mm Radiator - Black £40
EK Supreme HF CPU Waterblock - Copper Plexi £50
EK Multioption Reservoir X2 150 Basic £29
OcUK Tech Lab - D5 Vario Pump & EK D5 X-Top V2 Value Combo £90
OcUK 1/2" G1/4 - FatBoy Style - Shiny Silver - Barb Fitting £1.69 x8 I personaly prefer barbs and basicly u wont get leaks with 7/16 tubing
PrimoChill Black Steel Spring Clips - 1/2" £0.70 x8
Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm 1850 RPM - 3 Pin £16 x 2

u can select your tubing of choice since u want 3 colours as long its 7/16 u'll get a tight fit on the barbs
coolent , u might as well use distilled water imo

something like that would be suitable and around the 300 mark with the xtras

A D5 is not overkill at all :-) quiet pump and you are also probably looking to upgrade the loop at some point from looking at what you are saying there. Not worth skimping on the pump to save a few £. You would only need a 240 rad for single gpu and cpu anyway so the list that has been shown up there already looks good :-)

Needs :-

CPU block Go for the EK supreme HF's or the XSPC rasa's (both around £50) and choose whichever one takes your fancy
Tubing (Clear Black and White yes i want all 3 colours as i want to try something with alternating colours)

2 for each watercooling bit. Tere are two types of fitting; barb and compression. With compressions, you get the same size fitting as the tubing is. With barbs, most people will go for 1/2 barbs and 7/16 tubing or 1/2 barbs with 1/2 tubing and hose clamps
Coolant (thinking of going red)
Pump + pump top.(dont want a combo)
OcUK tech labs D5 with alphacool top is a great choice for silence and performance
Res (prefer a tube res)
EK or phobya; whichever one takes your fancy :)
Fans
Scythe Gentle typhoons (1450 RPMS are said to be better at cslower speeds)
Cutters
Go for the aluminium ones (around the £9 mark)
Jumper
OcUK value bridging connector
*GPU block and backplate budget allowing will add at a later date if not)*

and anything else I may have missed off.

Basically, go with what Richard said, but i've just added some more info so you can choose your own spec if you don't like anything in his spec :)

Also, if you go for 7/16 tubing on 1/2 barbs, you won't need those clips

yeah Prefer the 7/16 half in barbs myself :o Dreading the day I have to undo my compression fittings :/

IMO compressions are as good as use once. You overtighten them so much and can't get them off that you end up throwing them away/destroying the ring :o:o:o:o

That's just me though.
