Want a new whiskey glass as my other just broke. It was basic so want a nice one this time. Only need one (sounds really sad) and don't wanna spend too much. £10-£15 is what I have been looking at.

Go. :)

I really like my square JD glass, tis nice and heavy.
think theyt're in morissons for a tenner with a 35cl bottle of JD

Not just whiskey tho I drink all sorts out of it :p

They're not pricey, the postage is pricey. Also don't for god's sake pay a premium to have JD branded on your whisky glasses :p.

So did I get a good deal when I paid 1p for my old iPad keyboard but then £35for postage? :D I'm not bothered about the name, just typed in JD glass to see what Divine Wind (above) meant and found them.

If it's for sampling then a Glencairn glass is what you want. However for general drinking I like my big Ardbeg glass - http://www.ardbeg.com/shop/product/homeware/large-tumbler-glass.html

That's kind of what I am looking at, but clear.

These are quite funky: Click here.

Though these are the similar to my usual ones: Click here.

Call me old fashioned but I don't see the need to spend a fortune on whisky glasses and both of the above are within your budget OP. I have spent considerably more than the above on a set of whisky glasses as a 60th birthday present for my father in law (fellow whisky connoisseur) and he keeps them in the case as they're "too good" to use

Yea I like the first one, when you said funky I knew which one it was :)

The second is same as my old one so want a change.

I don't see the point in spending a fortune. I'm thinking something like this but better quality as this has bad reviews - http://www.amazon.co.uk/GHI-The-Roc...&qid=1372362532&sr=8-5&keywords=whiskey+glass

I remember ages ago TJ Hughes used to have a huge selection of nic cut crystal glasses.
I bought what I thought was a lovely set of champagne flutes only for the misus to say they were vile and buy very plain glass ones :( lol

I have a couple like this

not sure where they came from as they were a gift, but big heavy base and fine sides, just something nice about them...

I'd suggest having a browse of some charity shops. I've been in and I get the impression that people emptying their relatives houses dump a lot of excellent glassware on charity shops. 50p, £1 or so for some excellent old fashioned glasses.

I forgot to say,

When i drink my single malt whiskey it's usually out of a large water glass from ikea (think the bowl of a red wine glass without the stem similar to a cognac glass) and that works very nicely.

Reidel seem to think this is a good shape:

http://riedel.co.uk/index.php/vinum-single-malt-whisky.html

"In early 1992, a panel of Scotch whisky experts convened at Riedel's headquarters in Austria to test a range of nineteen different glass shapes. On the basis of this first selection, Georg Riedel undertook further research with the help of master distillers in Scotland. This research resulted in a glass that is an elongated thistle shape on a truncated stem. The design incorporates a small, slightly outturned lip which directs the spirit onto the tip of the tongue, where sweetness is perceived, and serves to emphasize the elegant creaminess of top quality single malt whisky."
