So with winter drawing closer I've decided its time for a new winter jacket. I work partly outside with animals so it must be;

Warm
Waterproof
Easy to clean (& not loose its waterproofness)

Budget, around £100.

Suggestions?

Heres a suggestion, go to a shop and try some on

I've not got a recommendation but all waterproof garments will lose their waterproofing over time and especially if washed but it's easily restored with any of the wash in or spray on waterproofing sprays you can buy.
Just in case you thought once it was gone, it's gone.

Well technically, the decent ones wont lose their waterproofing, but the outer fabric will start holding water. As you say though it's fairly easy and cheap to retreat.

100 quid is pretty cheap for a decent winter jacket. I can't imagine you'd find anything that good for that price.

Aye, for £100 you're gonna get something either warm or waterproof. Or quite crap.

I'd go for something warm and get something waterproof to go over the top for wet days. Snugpak stuff is warm and cheap and decent.

What are your views on 9/11?

If you're near a go outdoors store they've normally got some good kit for decent prices.
