Hi I'm after a new wireless dsl router that lets you specifcy your Mac address, I would prefer to stick with the likes of netgear/Linksys or other reputable manufacturers. Does anyone have any suggestions for sub £50?

I also have another related question. If I want to wire my desktop to my modem (about 15 metres away) is it possible to purchase a low profile type Ethernet cable, as standard cabling is too thick to run around our marble fireplace :D

Cheers

Most cable routers will let you clone or specify the MAC address, ADSL routers it's irrelevant.
As far as cable routers go, the Linksys WRT54GL's as popular as most. Reliable and runs third-party firmware.

You don't need to pre-register your MAC with cable anymore. However Linksys WRT54G lets you input any mac you wish aswel as clone the mac of the pc you are logged in from. (Even on the default firmware)
